I've been a Mac owner for three days now. I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed with this machine...much more than I thought I would be.
It's so nice to experience something new...especially when it's so nice.

On to my problem...
I went on vacation a couple summers ago. I took around 2000 pictures and really need to organize them badly.....file names(by location taken), properly datesd, etc.
I'm by no means a Photographer, although I love taking and viewing photos...so I don't really know any good photo-related software.

I guess for the two needs I listed, the software I need very well doesn't need to be photo-related.
Just something that will at least allow me to change the file name's, and maybe dates into groups.

If anyone has a good program in mind, or perhaps some secret-to-noobs Mac trick, please let me know!

iPhoto ? Once imported into iPhoto the files will be automagically split into events (by date). You can also make good use of the Faces and Places features. There is an introductory video when you start the app, more info on Apple.com.

Enjoy !
