Just purchased a new Macbook Pro, but is unable to play DVD movies.. tried VLC.

I'm guessing I have use DVD player the first time because the Region may not be set. ? Is this true ?

That is awkward, DVD player should just work right off the bat, make sure you set your region coding to whatever your region may be (In the US, it is region 1)

I had to set my region the first time I used it... try using DVD player, OP.

I never really understood why this happens (dumb copyright arguments excluded). Why can't I play a DVD from Europe in the US? ...sigh:mad:
