We have a no tax weekend starting today in our area so I thought it would be a perfect time for me to get my macbook. I had no idea that I would be spending in hour in line with two of my boys just to get in the door!!! I am not the kind of person that will wait it line to eat out so it took all I had to wait there. So now I am home with my new macbook and loving it so far! I really need to read this board more in depth now to learn all the tricks of the book. :)

what time of day did you go? (i don't want to stand in line tomorrow)

congrats.
i love my iMac (first Mac)
MacBook will be next (early 2007)

search the forums for cool/free/best apps for a good place to get started.

I was there at ten this morning. It was well worth the wait but I never dreamed I would stand in a hour long line to buy my first mac. I have been searching this forum like crazy since I know nothing about macs. :D

a colleague of mine went to tyson's corner mall (virginia) to do some tax-free shopping and she said it was very crowded. lines were long and people were everywhere! she made it sound like holiday shopping.

great :( maybe it won't be too bad if i get there right when it opens :hopefully:

It was just the Apple Store with a line and I bet it was worse then holiday shopping. I am very glad i waited since I am falling in love with this mac. I hope to spend today trying to figure out how to use it.

hey amac, you dont need the link for converts to mac. I don't have mine as of yet... hopefully before the end of the year. Just buying the mac mags, going on the website and coming here has switched me. I am excited already and I dont have mine. Still undecided on what to get though. Hubby wants a laptop (windows). I am trying to get him to convert to mac also... hopefully that will happen. He hates to have things change. But I know that this will be for the best.

I went to the link switch to a mac and I found it very informative. I was undecided on which one to get, but after going to the site. I think I will start with a macmini and then see if I need to upgrade to a better one. ;)

Thank you for the heads up.
