Hello people

My wife recently got a Mac. I have used windows all my life so I'm trying to figure out how to do some fixing.

Her computer does connect to at least one other public network (university) which is WEP protected, but will not connect to our home network. The network is fine because my computer (that I am writing from) is currently connected.

The error is that the WEP password is determined to be "invalid" I have checked I have not mistyped it several times.

any suggestions?
thanks

Why are you using WEP? Try it with WPA2 or with no security and see if it connects. WEP is not secure.

If you must use WEP try a $ sign before the WEP key.

thanks for the reply

I use WEP because WPA2, etc.. do not work with one of the computers on the network (it is old...)

tried the dollar sign, it doesn't work. thanks anyway

any more ideas?

Well there is a simple solution for that. Buy a Wireless USB adapter. What brand is your router? Buy an adapter that is the same brand. (You don't have to but it makes things easier). Then switch the security to WPA2.
