Ok, so I just bought my first Mac (MacBook Air). I started my journey with the original iPhone and followed every upgrade, then picked up an iPad. I've loved my switch to Apple every step of the way. Now, I've made the final leap and wow what a fantastic upgrade!

My question, what are some good sites and software sources that a newbie should absolutely have in his toolbelt?

I currently follow Macrumors daily and tuaw. Thanks in advance!

Have a look at the second post in this thread for lots of links.

My first advice would be to learn the capabilities of the system as it stands before adding a bunch of stuff or tweaking the UI; there's a number of things you can do as-stock that you might not realize. For example, the Preview application allows you to annotate PDF files. The Dock can be set to auto-hide, you can change the size of icons, etc.
