New Macbook 13 has longer batterylife than MBP 13?

Uh, less power requiring parts? a dimmer screen?

I'm not sure the screen is dimmer. And part wise, it's the same as the MBP 13, especially because they test with the key lights off... So they either made some big changes in hardware or power management for having the same specs.

Leopard tested on the MBP, Snow Leopard on the MB accounts for the small difference in performance scores.

Understood. You get approx. 5-7% better Geekbench from Leopard to SL. Tack that on to the scores and it's right on.
