So I just received my new MacBook 15inch with AMD graphics card. I am coming from a 2011 Macbook pro. Needless to say I find this machine amazingly fast. I had few migration questions though.

1- How to copy the iPhone backup? I mean I copied from my old MacBook but can't find where to paste in the new one. I am running yosemite.

2- Do the fans go crazy with Iris Pro as well? I was running CS Go on Iris Pro and I swear I thought this machine will take off!!

3- Any other handy apps you people suggest? :) I am a college student btw.

I just came from a 2011 17in MBP myself to a 2015 15in MBP and it is much louder than my older model. They have made them much thinner since 2011 so it get hotter faster and the fans work more than before.

There is a file in the User library folder, I think its under Mobile sync or backup that has all your iPhone backups. If you can though just hook up your iPhone and back it up fresh. Fresh content on a new machine is always better than trying to move it over, it just takes awhile.
