But why, that is so cool - oh wait, my MBA has 2 G RAM and a 1.86 C2D and a 128 SSD hard drive already...

Totally agree, that totally sucks. Bad move, Apple.

Ok, new topic - when will the MBA REALLY be updated?

For itunes, browsing web, some pages it is enough.

It is not a computer for work but for hanging around coffee shop.

Can you just hear the sound of tears? That's Scottsdale crying.

1.86Ghz / 2GB RAM? My old MBA that I just sold was more powerful.

upgradable to 4 gb.

This is the MBA we should have had in January 2010 or even last Fall.

However, I am ordering both. Cannot believe the pricing. I am going BTO RAM and CPU and anything else they give us.

Where did you get 4GB max?

The 2GB is pretty disappointing, but I think I can live with it.

The form factor is just so nice. The old MBA was super attractive and this one is leaps and bounds ahead. Thinner, lighter, bettery battery life, more practical, and a great display.

I really do wish they had used a Core i7 though. The 320M is too slow to play games on anyway, just don't bother.

Check their website... i just posted a thread about it too... Here

Yeah I might get a maxed out 13.

Ebay the old clunker :D

But i want to try the small one for kicks.

Can't wait to get mine: 256GB, 2.13GHz and 4GB RAM. High resolution display and the 320M just made this a viable upgrade to the previous Air.

Update: BTO pricing is up. $100 for RAM upgrade as well as the processor. Sweet deal.

If you were looking for core i3, then you are one of the dumbest people in the world. Core i3 processor will come to Macbook and macbook pro first before MBA. Apple is always the last company to jump on new technologies. I am laughing at those people who were expecting USB 3.0, HDMI out, Core i3 and 4GB ram all standards for 999 dollars. Some even said 899 dollars.

Some people do not think too rationally. I think the hew Air is a steal at that price. SSD? Nice!

I didn't think you would be that happy with this update Scott. Its pretty much a bog standard update that as you mention should have been rolled out months ago.
