Short version: twice in the last 2.5 days the fans on my MacBook Air have gotten noticeably loud for an extended period of time, and according to the XRG app I downloaded, both my CPU Cores were running at or very near 212 degrees which seems like maxing out. This hasn't happened at all until 2 days ago. Should I be worried?

Longer: I bought this MacBook Air back in early July. I've barely noticed the fan--I've been pretty amazed at how quiet it is. That is, until 2 days ago. I placed it on top of an RFID scanning pad on a desk at work because there was no space elsewhere. Soon the fans were going as hard as they could. I downloaded XRG to see the details and the CPU temps were maxing out it seems. I eventually had to shut down because the fans weren't helping.

I actually did a google search beforehand to see if an RFID pad (this device) would have any effect on my computer, but didn't find anything negative, so I'm not sure if it caused the overheating or not.

This evening I had the laptop on my legs for about 45 min - 1 hour and the fans once again started working their hardest. I'd done this before without significant heat build up, so I'm not sure why it got so hot this time. Is Chrome typically a culprit in this situation?

I'm nearing the end of my AppleCare, so I'm a little concerned that this has happened twice when previously it didn't happen at all. DAE have suggestions or insights?
