anybody else have this problem? just got it in the mail today, everything is perfect except that the lights on the left side are not working. i don't know if there is a setting i have to turn on or something.

Thats strange, I would take it into a local apple store and have it looked at.

Or you might make the same mistake as this guy. lol

I just started up my new MacBook (2.0 Ghz) and I have discovered the battery light indicator at the front of the laptop is not working at all.

Any ideas????

a couple posts later

I really am an idiot. I am embarrassed to say that I was looking at the Infared receiver at the front.

i think he "did" mention that he did look on the left side where the batt. indicator button is. :D

You might have a defect. take it to Apple for service.

Does the LED's even flash for a moment at all from left to right and back for a few seconds? that left to right indicator means the system doesn't detect the battery connected or not connect properly.

It does flash for a moment from left to right when I unplug the power adapter and then goes off.
What should I do now??

That's what is suppose to happen so at least you know it's working. The button might be faulty. It's really up to you if you want something that small fixed.

Well, it is supposed to indicate my battery level, isn't it?
So it's not functioning, sadly :(
But I am about to return this product, so never mind :)
