Hello

Firstly, Seasons Greetings everybody!

I got a MacBook for Chrimbo and I love it but I left it on the floor and it looks like my cat has skated across it, (Please see separate thread for the cat for sale messages!).

Anyway, my brand new MacBook has a cat claw scratch across the top of it - not deep but viewable when the light shines across it.

I've ordered some Apple Polish, (the only version I could find is for iPods but is it any different?). Is that likely to fix it or is there anything else I can try, (I also have a JML Magic Eraser if anyone thinks that would do it?).

TIA

- D

You'll definitely get a lot more scratches on it over the future. Macbooks scratch so easily. There is a product called IceCreme, that removes scratches from the Macbooks surface. I have IceCreme myself and it works fantastically.

Ha ha, yeah, I guessed that!

Thanks for the tip, I notice you're in the UK. Can I ask where you get it from? I've googled it and I can't find any UK suppliers, even looked on eBay!

Cheers

OUCH!

I ordered my Ice Creme M kit direct from RadTech in the US for $24.95, but unless you're planning on using it to polish an iPod I'd stick with the standard Ice Creme kit for $20.95, they're essentially the same except the former comes with a special metal polishing pad. Shipping to the UK is $4.95 so all-in-all you'll be looking at about £15, but I noticed they're doing 5% off purchases between $15 - $29.99 at the moment; the promo code is JOYOUS ;)

Check it out here: http://www.radtech.us/Products/Icecreme.aspx (I must learn how to hyperlink!?)

I'd also recommend getting a half-decent bag, case or sleeve for it so that [hopefully] this won't happen again.

Excellent, thank you very much all!

Irony is I also got a really nice bag for it but hadn't put it in because it was on charge!!

Thanks again
