New macbook... CD drive problem

I received my new macbook around 48 hours ago and at that point it was working fine. I uploaded a few CD's onto itunes and such and it was working great. However, today nothing seems to come up when i insert cd's. I left a cd in the drive for about 24 hours and when i went to eject it (carrying the cd icon to the trash it didn't work). It did eject when i pressed the eject button. Now when i insert a disc of any kind it does no read it at all... any advice on what could of happened would be greatly appreciated

Have you restarted, it may be a software issue. Otherwise, I would contact Apple or take it to the point of purchase and have them fix it or replace it.
