New MacBook charging question

If I’m using an external monitor is it best to have the charger in the hub with a pass through or on it’s own separate usb3 port. Or doesn’t it make a difference?

if it reports a smaller charging power via hub then seprate port would be better, if same charging wattage is reported then it shouldn't matter. ( shown in system info, power at bottom )

As long as the battery is getting charged, it doesn't matter

The hub gets quite hot that's why I wondered
