New Macbook, got some questions.....

So I just got my new refurbished MacBook from Apple, and so far love it. I had my brother play around in terminal (he's fluent in Linux/Unix stuff) and was able to set my screensaver to my background with by making it an alias (I thinks thats what he said). I gave him the code I got from Tekzilla Daily and he ran with it pretty cool thing to do.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else had some favorite terminal tricks/tips they used, and also would like to know what everyones favorite programs are.......this is my first Mac, so any advice on the transition may be helpful to.....So far, I've gotten Handbrake, and lookin at getting remote buddy for using with my iTouch

istat, smcfan control, "cyberduck" for FTPing umm, alarm clock 2 is a good alarm clock program if you want one of those
