new macbook mic static

so my friends have told me that my mic is really static (the built in one)

is there anyway i can test it or something i can change to fix it? i understand that it is built in and is not the clearest mic, but my friends have built in ones as well and it sounds pretty decent for just chatting.

it happens with ambient noise reduction on and off.

I'm going through an ordeal trying to get Apple to successfully repair my "old" MacBook's mic. I have the iSight chirping issue where the mic picks up a chirping sound from the iSight itself. It seems to be related to how high the processor is running.

I would try to get a replacement. I think the new MB mics are next to the keyboard (maybe?). If this is the case, the iSight chirping would probably a non-issue and any static-like issues would probably be isolated and unique to your machine.

just bought a macbook, but on my laptop PC, when i type, and im talking on skype, the other end can hear my fingers tapping and not me. i hope this is not the case with the macchook. would be nice to have a mic on the screen.
