I recently got a MacBook for graduation.

I tried setting it up, but I have absolutely no idea how to join a network.

Usually when the list of networks pop up, they're passworded and I'm clueless on how to get the passwords.

I am seriously lost and would like help on this.

If you'd like more details, just tell me what to explain. I'm trying to figure out this mess, so forgive me if I don't seem to be clear.

Thanks! =)

You need a password to join networks. I suggest getting a router so your Macbook can connect to it wireless.

mm ok

thanks =)

What if I already have a router? How does my 2 PCs in my house connect to the internet, if my macbook cannot?

Sorry for being such a clueless ditz about this.

Well, the PCs are connected via cable, but we have a D-link router

and I'm at home.

Is the router wireless (it should have an antenna sticking out)?

EDIT: Better yet, what model number is it?

It does have a gray antenna, it says "wireless router" somewhere on it.

The model number is DI-624

Well since you do have a router, did you set it up? Go to your menu bar and right click on the icon to the left of the speaker, if you know the name of your network, the name of it should be in that list, and when you click on it, you may have to type in a password if you know it or set one up.

menu bar?

where is that?

I assumed you meant on the taskbar because of the speakers, but I don't see anything?

it works for 2 computers and I reset it last night because I dug myself into a hole trying to set up the macbook network

the guide says to

"Install the D-Link DWL-G650 wireless Cardbus adapter into a laptop computer."

What's that?

edit: thanks for the link :)
