new macbook or imac 24" 3.06

So after much deliberation, I have decided to purchase both the new macbook for optimal portability and an iMac for my at home power station. Does anyone have any advice on which I should get in the upcoming week and wait on the other one?

I know the macbooks are still working out some kinks, on the other hand, the new iMac refreshes are around the corner which, from the responses I'm getting, could mean even cheaper refurbs.

Personally, I just got a refurb 24" now. I got the $1299 originally $1799 model. Yeah eventually these will go down in price but not much. Personally, knowing Holiday shopping, everything goes cheap one day then gone the next. I still saved money regardless and I think that's the whole point.
