New Macbook Pro 13" Any useful tweaks?

Hey everyone,

My first Mac will be arriving soon and I was wondering if there were any nice tweaks that you veterans usually do when you get a new machine?

I know little to nothing about Macs right now, but with Windows there were a bunch of settings you could change/disable to make everything run more productively.

Any tips/advice will be greatly appreciated. =]
