I've been using my new mbp all day on just the battery and it is now only on 43% power. My old mbp would have been dead long ago. This thing is amazing. I believe this batter itself is worth the upgrade. Just ranting.

I am glad to hear you like the battery improvements considering getting a mbp soon on my own.

How many hours did you use it and which tasks did you mess around with :D?

Awesome! Another good post in the midst of much criticism. Can you give us a time in hours, about how long has it lasted? Enjoy your new MBP! :D

I am with ya I just got the 15" with the 7-hour batt life... absolutely amazing! It seems my calibration is off (on time estimation) though I have not ran mine all the way down yet.

Did you fully charge and then run the batter down or what kind of prep did you do when you took it out of the box?

Would just like to temper the excitement here in that my new mbp 15" battery is better, but it is not light years better. It's about 35 minutes better.

2.26 base model, no upgrades, or battery calibration. Came charged at 98% out of box, just charged up and wnt to work. Wifi on, 70% brightness, safari, word processing, and video watching via quicktime etc. I'm impressed.

Good to hear because this is what sold me! I'm picking up my 13" Pro and 16GB touch next week!!!

specs?

using with 9400m or the discrete?

brightness?
wifi on?
surfing?

9400m, brightness 100%, wifi on, just surfing web pages, bluetooth off. I find that in a regular office/library environment, using anything less tha 85% to 100% brightness makes the reflections unbearable.

My 2.8 is about 3 hours better than my 2.66 previous gen. I think it's your screen brightness. I got about 8 hours and 30 mins. I find the screen too bright on 100%. I usually keep it at ~30% at home and the office. I think your screen angle might be causing the reflections because I have no issues.

Indeed it's great. The battery life is so long I totally forgot that I was on battery.

Wow, this is amazing. Now if the battery performance actually doesn't degrade for 5 years, that would be even more amazing. My poor early 08 Macbook Pro's battery is dying. I might get a free replacement under Apple Care though.

Macbook Pro 13"

Mine is only getting around 3 hours battery life with low brightness and wifi on.

This is not right is it???? Does it get better over time?

Aaron

max battery life 10 hours?? =)
this is basically everything turned down with firefox open.
