First of all, I am sorry if this is a repost .

Like the title says, what can we expect from the new macbook pro 13 in terms of graphics card? from what i've read it's gonna be the intel option and some people claimed that it would be a drop of performance compared to the current nvidia 320m ?

Do you think they are going to do like the 15' version and also put a discrete nvidia card ?

Thank you,

Thank you,

If they drop the optical disc drive, then yes, they can fit a discrete graphics card! =]

Drop the optical? Many companies have better than mbp15 in a 13in shell with an optical. There is no need to drop the optical.

that's what you think.

the lack of discreet GPU in the current gen MBP is 50/50 between lack of space and nVIDIA + Intel not getting along.

The NVIDIA / Intel dispute is completely independent of discrete GPUs, and ONLY applies to integrated GPUs with Core i CPUs.

Other 13" computers with better specs also would not have nearly the battery life of the 13" MBP.

If Apple does scrap the optical drive, it seems very likely that Apple will fit in a thin-and-light discrete GPU, and beef the cooling system and battery to compensate. After all, the disk drive must take a good fifth of the internal space.

No, your wrong =] Look at Erasmus' post.

Yep!! Look how much space the disc drive takes!!!

Just look at that thing! They could put in the extra GPU, a blade SSD, and still increase the battery capacity by 50%!

I don't think we need even more battery at this point. It would be nice for better cooling in the system, so that we can have better processors and the discrete GPU though :)
