Hey,
I'm considering moving from an old 2006 Mac pro to a new MacBook pro. I have a 30" external monitor i want to hook up as well. I was kind of thinking that once some thunderbolt stuff comes out i could easily dock the MacBook to my external drives and the display through just one port. However the current minidisplayport to dual link dvi adapter looks really crappy especially if I'm gonna daisey chain a few devices and I'm not 100% sure it would even work in that configuration. With the new thunderbolt port do you think apple will come out with a new adapter that doesn't require the USB port section?
On another note, everyone seems to be complaining about the graphics card in the 13". I could care less about games, but use aperture and solidworks (through bootcamp) a lot. Would the 13" graphics card perform well enough for those programs?
Thanks!
