My less then 30 day old unibody macbook pro, has a defective 1G Ram module. When I went to power it on, I would just have a white screen with a "beep" every 5 seconds. Tried powering it off numerous times, took battery out, no help. Finally took it in to the local Apple Store and a Genuis looked at it. He took the back off, (wow those are little screws) and took out both memory modules, then he replace one by one and changed the slots to see if it was a logic board problem or just a bad memory module. Luckily, it was the top memory module. so they ordered a new one and should receive it in a couple of days. The Ram was from a Korean compay that I was not familiar with.

So if anyone experiences the white screen at bootup and a beep every 3-5 seconds zero in on the RAM module.

Kinda of a bummer that I already had a problem with the new unibody
