is anyone else here disappointed that apple didnt make much of an attempt to seriously improve the macbook/macbook pros battery life?
my macbook pro goes low just after around 2 hours of use. there are some 24 hour laptops on the market now!

now that the battery is accessible, is it possible to buy another battery and slide it right in?

thanks.

Not macs though ;)

I really happy with my 5 hours i can get when only using word in lectures. and other time when im doing graphic design im plugged in so doesnt worry me.

hmm...you are lucky then
apple advertises 5 hour battery life, when the laptop is in and idle mode.
i surf the web quite a bit, and it always seems to go down to one bar in less than 2 hours...

sorry mabye not many 24 hour laptops.
but here is an HP 24 hour - http://www.tomshardware.com/news/hp-elitebook-laptop,6339.html

and dell makes a 19hr laptop has well...

the 24 hour laptops are with the extended batter PLUS a slice battery... not very pleasant to carry around all day.

I do love my sony TXN - gets about 10 hours with the extended battery. It's sad to see the new sony TT's actually getting worse battery life (but I guess it does have more power).

hmm...yeah i agree with that...
hopefully apple will make that a priority soon :(
