new macbook pro + bootcamp?

i installed bootcamp and everythign installed the drivers liek i used to on my previous gen macbookpro but now for some reason when i connect my display to the vga <=> minidisplay port adapter i cannot run it in the lcds native resolution, when i set the prefecnes to run at the displays native resoltuion it seems as if the resolution i set it too big for the screen? i know for a fact that it is the displays native resolution yet it atkes up more then my screen. any ideas?

This has somethign with my KVM switch, if i connect the minidisplay/vga adapter directly to my lcd screen the resolution si fine and dandy, but if i conect the vga/mindisplay adapter to my kvm switch the resolutions conflict.
