New Macbook Pro Brightness buttons not working

My new macbook 2.5 just came in. I love this thing. It runs great. I just cannot figure out one thing. The brightness buttons don't seem to do anything. I press them and the graphic comes on the screen but the brightness doesn't change. The other function keys work fine. This happen on ac and on battery. Is there a setting I'm missing.

If it matter I have the 94 screen. Which is from LG I think.

Never mind. I was pressing the F5 and F6 keys not F1 and F2. Those working fine.

What does F5 adn F6 do?

i have the same problem

i got my macbook pro 2.53 and the brightness was working when i first turned on the machine but after 2 days it stopped. i dont know why but it is bot reacting the outer light level and i cant cahnce the brightness level both with keys and using the system preferences display menu. it just not working.
its the first time tat im using MAC so i wonder that did i do something wrong ?
is there anythink like BIOS on MAC ?
