So I'm thinking about buying a 13" Macbook Pro this weekend to replace my wife's HP laptop and my dual 1 GHz G4. But I'm curious about the display port.
Right now I have the G4 and my PC sharing a DVI monitor + keyboard + mouse. The G4 will come out of the mix and the Macbook will go in. Until I get a dock sometime later, if I were to plug in a Displayport -> DVI adapter would the Macbook automatically recognize the monitor without adjusting any settings?
It's a 22" widescreen display. Would running dual screens slow down the Macbook very much?
edit: last question - anyone know if the 13" Macbooks are in stock at the Portland Apple Store?
