New Macbook Pro displays pixelated dots on external monitor

Hey guys,

I just got a new macbook pro and am using an adapter to display to a ViewSonic external monitor. Every once in a while there will be dots that appear and I think it may be the macbook pro.

I dont think its the adapter or cable because when the dots are appearing I jiggle the cord and adapter and the dots dont go away...???

Any idea on how I should approach this?
