What are your ideal specs for the upcoming MacBook pros?

Feel free to list any other cool features (liquidmetal, edge to edge screen, etc...)

Another one.... This has to be at least the 15th thread on the same topic today. Why can't you just share your comments in one of those threads? Like This one

Im happy with the current design. The only things I would like to see in a new macbook pro are :
3 USB Ports for the 15"
Quad cores at a decent clock speed
Not that I really need it, but better graphics card
A small, maybe 64gb, SSD Boot drive, with a regular HDD as it is now
Higher resolution, again, not a necessity for me, but who doesn't like a bit higher res.
Battery life is superb now, but I could use another two hours or so.

Besides that, I think everything else is fine. I still havent decide if I'll be selling my current mac and buying the new one. Chances are I won't, but if there is a vast difference, than I may consider it.

For the 13" base model $1199

1400x900 res.
i5 and amd graphics
Redesigned thinner stronger liquid metal body
get rid of optical drive
12 hours realistic battery life
128gb ssd

I'll buy as soon as its available on amazon for $1099 :D

All things from that kooky mactrast.com article (especially that swap bay!)
+
quad-core i7 option in the 15"
+
monster video card for OpenCL that can run Mercury Playback
+
lightpeak (CuPeak = ok)
+
BluRay burner

Yeah -- that'd be ideal. And like $6k!

Oh, and maybe a marginally acceptable Flash plugin -- but now I'm just talkin' crazy!

not happening. samsung offers a similar model for over $1500.

Agreed. Another good example of how delusional some of users are. Apple is not really priced so high compare to samsung's 9 series. Samsung is asking for 1699 dollars for 13 inch laptop with 128GB SSD and i5 processor.

Wait for 2 more years and you will get your wish.

I'm ok with waiting 2years. Gonna have to grab a sec hand mba 11" till then. Let's see first what happens :D

Realistically,

i3 / i5 / i7 SB proc
+20% battery
cheaper SSD upgrade option
minor exterior update

very unlikely that apple will offer anything more substantial.

Nah.. last time I checked so many lalal land users assured me that apple will put quad core processor, 8GB ram, 512 GB SSD with nvidia's GTX graphic card and have a 14-16 hours of battery life. They also assured me that apple will ship Mac OS and Window 7 installed together.

Not happening with that price
and if they take out the optical drive they probably have to put in another fan to cool the i5

I'd be happy just seeing Apple bringing their quality back up to where it once was. Lately they've made some very poor decisions, made worse by the commaand to "just ship it".
