Is this the new MBP in latest episode (3) Prison Break (season 4) - without a Apple icon on the top cover?!

Definitely a mac - see screen, isight cam etc - but I suppose they could have messed with the image to lose the Apple - if Apple didn't pay them...

But still...

its not uncommon for studios to modify/block out company decals. Its a money thing.

just like How I met your mother uses macbook pros or powerbooks, but they put a sticker or something over it. No need to get all excited about it.

edit: its not good to download tv shows btw.

Happens all the time. Usually there is a convenient circular sticker over the Apple (like in HIMYMother). MBP's are undeniably a good looking computer, and the Apple logo is far too iconic and basically gives Apple Co. free advertising.

The producers can either get Apple to pay up, or slap a sticker over it. Besides, EVERY Apple product has the Apple symbol somewhere on it in a noticeable place. It's like selling a car without any badges. Makes no sense.

BTW. Good to know where you get your TV eps from.

No Big White Backlit Apple on the Top Cover (like all current MBPs have)

I've seen an old MBP that's had a plastic film stuck over the lid and then sprayed silver that looks the same as the one in the screen shot.

Or even:

They did that on alias too i believe in season 4. They had red stickers over the mac symbols

Watch Boston Legal. They don't bother with spraypainting... just use duct tape. Always looks wrong in my opinion...

I saw a movie not to long ago and they had an old powerbook (movie was made in the mid 90s) and the apple logo was flipped upside down... but even the OS they used was tweaked

Until the Titanium PowerBook G4 (up to and through the Pismo line), the Apple logo WAS "upside down".

And the OS is regularly photoshopped in whenever they need to do something without writing an actual program.

My kids watch a Disney show called "iCarly." It is about a girl that has a webshow. They have a "Pear Book" instead of the Apple logo it is a Pear. It is a Macbook Pro, but has a Pear in the place of the Apple.

They also had the "Pear Phone" on there a few weeks ago. lol.

If you watched the VMAs, DJ AM's MBP has a Window's logo or at least that's what it looks like.

Apple didn't pay them to put their computer in the show, so the show isn't going to give them free advertising.

Actually, it's a legal issue. They can't display a clear Apple logo on screen without having legal permission to show it. Though the Production company can usually get permission to use the logo if they use it in a positive light, or even get paid to show it by selling it as a viable form of promotion for the company.

But simply put, it's easier to just cover it with a piece of tape, and save the time and money to get permission.

Scrubs do it too, they put a sacred heart logo over the apple ones on the laptops, although I have seen a iMac G4 on there that had the apple logo happily open for all to see...

I think thats on Nickelodeon. Either way kids TV shows suck now a days.

With the macbooks in aluminum it makes it even easer to cover it with duct tape. just do a bit of "make up" so it could blend in.... witch looks a lot nicer especially if the show is in HD, you can clearly see the line for the tape and the outline of the logo.
