Hi,

I already own a Macbook 1.83Ghz C2D and iMac Aluminum 2Ghz C2D but I have been considering buying the new Macbook Pro as I will be using it for midi and audio recording on Logic Pro 8 but I am a bit disappointed that Apple have downgraded the L2 cache from 4mb to 3mb

Is there any reduction in performance on the new Macbook Pro compared with the old model which had 4mb L2 cache?

I have also considered buying a refurbished Macbook Pro from the Apple store website. I would save £200 doing this rather than buying new. Would anyone recommend this?

Cheers

there is a difference, but its insignificant enough not to loose sleep over :)

I have a refurbished MBP, and also a refurb AEBS. Both arrived in pristine condition and run perfectly. Other than a battery replacement (fully covered by the one-year warranty), no issues or problems.

I would recommend a refurb purchase, and fully expect to buy an Apple refurb again in the future.
