When running skype video chat + 1 firefox (with 3 tabs).

My activity monitor says skype is using 65% on the list, but in the bottom, it says 80% of my CPU idling.
Any advice/thoughts? Im a computer science major at U of M Ann Arbor, but this is my first Mac and laptop so still getting used to the high temps.
