Hi,

I just purchased a base model of the new 2010 mbp and I've been using it to play some movies through HDMI I almost everytime use it alone but now I was using aMSN and had Mail open and the .avi movie keeps lagging, it also happens sometimes while playing 720p .mkv movies. I thought well the 720p must take a lot of resources but the avi files aren't that heavy it's 360mb for a 40 minutes video and it keeps lagging.

I wasn't able to take a screenshot of the activity monitor (I don't know why) but here's the basic info:

%CPU Subprocesses Real Memory

Safari 2,6 10 108,6 MB

aMSN 7-21 6 74,8 MB

MPlayerX 5 10 34,3 MB

mplayer-mt 9,6 5 37,7MB

Mail 2 7 48,5 MB

CPU

User (%) 12,75
System (%) 10,79
"Idle" (%) 79 (It changes I don't know if it adds up)

Subprocesses: 258
Processes: 50

System's Memory
Free: 142,4 MB
"Wired": 751,2 MB
Active: 835,3 MB
Inactive: 2,32 GB
Used: 3,87 GB

Virtual Memory Size: 117,19 GB
Paging (I don´t know if this is the real name in english) (entries) : 394,5 MB
Paging (exits): 568 KB
Interchange Space Used: 9,3 MB

I hope someone could help me on how improve my video playback :)

Thanks
