New Macbook pro Optimus with Skype

I just found out having skype open activates the graphic switching, which is absurd. Is there any way to make exceptions or skype with a different client?

I have that installed already. I usually always have my skype on as a im client. But now if I do I will have to lose the auto switching capability. Is there a work around for this? Like making a list of exceptions that doesn't trigger discrete graphics?
