New Macbook pro - overheating??

My new Macbook pro retina 15" rus hot.
The fan runs on high constantly and the battery life is maybe 1 -1 1/2 hours.
with no apps running....
Any ideas before a trip to the genius bar?

The fans may spool up on the initial set up, equally this should not be a prolonged period. Could be potential a runaway process Activity Monitor will show this by looking at the CPU usage (sorted highest first) end the offending application.

For any more answers you will need to expand on the situation; OS version, software, age, what you using it for at the time etc
