Hi, I am about to purchase my first macbook pro. Here are some of the specs:

15" display
2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I will upgrade to 4G of RAM

Now my question is about the hard drive....

I really don't care about the difference in space and I am having trouble deciding between the 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm and the 200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm.

I know that the 7200 runs the computer a little bit faster but is it worth the extra heat and is it that much faster....

thanks in advance

According to the link you gave me, the 7200 rpm drive will run faster, will produce less heat, and use less battery time. Can anyone else confirm this???

That's been my experience. Also, it's extremely quiet. I can only hear it with my ear almost touching the trackpad. It's screaming fast on extremely large file transfers. Everything launches and runs very fast. I couldn't be happier! Of course, your mileage may vary.
