I just purchased a new Macbook Pro 15in and I wanted to upgrade the 4 gigs of ram to 8 gigs. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy 2 sticks of 4 gigs of ram for a good price (less than $200) and is compatible with the Macbook Pro. Thanks in advance.

i really want to upgrade to 8gb of ram ... in the 2 months ive had my laptop the price has dropped from 800 to 700 =) at macsales .. ill wait a bit longer

So I couldn't go to Fry's and pick up the ram there?

For a 4GB DDR3 stick (not to be confused with DDR2) your looking at $300+ each now - or $600+ for a kit.

The cheapest kit on newegg is $700 now and the cheapest 4GB stick is $340 with a crucial 4GB stick listed for $300 that's out of stock.

Would you happen to know the model/type of the 4 gig of Ram I would need?
