New Macbook Pro Software Update Taking Longer Than Expected

Hi, I recently purchased a Macbook Pro after several problems with my Macbook from the previous generation. I am now running the software update on my new Pro and the progress bar has hardly moved and the text "Running Quicktime 7 Installer Script" has been displayed for about 25 minutes now. I just wanted to find out if this is normal or if I should consider restarting my computer.

I suspect that you're issue is one of the ones cropping up with this latest software update.
See here, for example.
Follow the instructions in there and try again.
