I bought a Macbook Pro about two months ago. I notice the fan goes on frequently, and the computer is timing out or freezing. In two months I have filled 1/3rd of my storage. I have a lot of music and a ton of work files.

What is the best way for me to manage my storage? I currently keep most files in folders on my desktop all of which are also stored in the cloud but I guess they are still taking up storage on my computer

Some cloud services let you offload the contents to servers and free up space for your local machine. For example, if you use Dropbox, turn on the "smart sync", and it will automatically store files that are not used for a while in the clouds while keeping only frequent files locally. This way, you can save a ton of space most of your files are not used regularly.
