I was thinking of getting the new macbook pro 15", however I am also considering an 21.5-inch: 3.06GHz iMac. Which one should I choose?

I will need it mostly for work and a bit of gaming. It also needs to serve as a family computer (e.g. watching films), I do have an external moniter.

I have also seen a fantastic offer on eBay, being cautious I checked through anything but couldn't find any faults. How is he able to sell the macbook pros over £300 cheaper? And finally how will the warranty work if not brought from apple store? http://tinyurl.com/39wub9u I was also looking at the iMac on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/2uu35ca Can these offers be trusted?

Thanks:D

The 330m in the MBP and 4670 in the iMac are very similar so either choice would yield similar results from a gpu perspective only if you were to get the imac 27" with the 4850 would you see a difference in gaming performance. So I guess it comes down to portability vs screen real estate

Buy an iMac for a family computer, much better but DO NOT buy that one of Ebay because it's 10 pounds MORE then brand new from Apple themselves:

Also check out the Apple refurb store for good savings:

as far as family computer i would go imac.. MBP with an external monitor wouldnt hurt because of the added option of portability..
