New MacBook Purchase

Im planning on purchasing a Macbook for my little sister. Should i buy now, or wait for a supposed update or Macbook air.

I was thinking more of a Macbook though for the ware and tare of a child (11 years old) and im worrying she will think the air is a toy and not treat it correctly opposed to the ruggedness of the Macbook. Im not sure? Her birthday is in September so we will see what panes out in terms of new products but i am hoping that i can get it for her under the student discount promotion.

there's no point in buying a year old laptop for $1k. get the new air instead when it's released next month.

Why arare yyou buying an 11 year old a thousand dollar computer? I'm all for providing for younger siblings but that doesn't make any sense. Get her a nice windows computer,it isn't like the differences arent going to be noticed. A first Gen ipad seems more fitting.

But to stay on topic, get her a refurbished MacBook,saves money and will serve its purpose.
