Is it worth the extra $300 for the .4GHZ upgrade and the 90GB HD upgrade? Does the keyboard have a back lite on the lowere priced model? Are there any other differences?

No one's really sure on the backlit keyboard yet. It'd really suck if it wasn't a standard option. Adding in a couple of LED's really shouldn't warrant a 300 dollar increase in price.

And honestly I don't think the .4GHZ is going to matter for the general demographic that uses the MacBook. For that matter, the upgrade to DDR3 1066 isn't that much of an upgrade to DDR2. I doubt anyone will notice the difference.

The RAM and HDD prices are relatively close to retail prices of what you'd pay for a third party upgrade.
