Have a possibility to buy open box, sealed 2016 Macbook from an official 3rd party Apple reseller. Computer was never turned on.

1. General warranty. Expired or 1 year from registration (like iPhones)?
2. Keyboard extened warranty. Expires in 2020 or expires 4 years from registration?
3. Can I check all of this via serial number?

An open box, "sealed" 2016 MacBook? How can something be open box and sealed at the same time?

Then it’s an open box. End of story. MacBooks don’t come sealed in plastic. I’d assume nothing about the warranty coverage.

Thanks. In the meanwhile seller send a message that he's "on vacation" and cannot provide the serial number.

That’s suspicious and doesn’t sound like an “official 3rd party reseller.”

If I was you, I'd stay away from this purchase and find another MacBook to buy.

Thanks. I will. It's just that they are quite difficut to find in a good condition and for a reasonable price.

Apple left us in a peculiar position as they simply stopped making ultraportable computers. Unfortunately iPads are still vastly inferior when in comes to real work.
