I was waiting for the next batch of Macbook Pros or Airs, but given how long it's taken 3rd party music production manufacturers to get their apps to run on Big Sur, I don't want to find I'm stuck with programs not running on Monterey. So do people think the full Monterey OS is going to arrive before the new machines? Thanks.

I think the OS will arrive before the new Macs. I would keep using Big Sur for a good while longer, since you mentioned the music production apps you use don't get updated very quickly. You don't want to buy a new machine and find you can't use it for your mission critical work.

As it happens, I'm on a really old MacBook, so I'm not even on Big Sur, otherwise I'd stick with it. i just assumed my next one would be running Big Sur with the apps that had caught up. It might mean buying a current M1.
