Last year Apple released new Macbooks. Are new Macbooks expected in October along with the launch of Leopard.
In the current Macbook I hate the integrated video card. It's absolutely horrendous. So a better graphics card + a LED-backlit screen is what I'm really looking at but other upgrades are always welcome. :)
No I don't need it anytime soon but this is just to keep my head set on whether I'm waiting or not. I need it by the start of September but I could delay it till the end of October to get it pre-installed with Leopard. The thing is, right now with the student discounts I can get a free ipod nano! I've got a 3G 40GB ipod but it needs to be repaired slightly plus a new battery needs to be installed.

Anyone care to comment about these:

When the next MB updates come around (don't know when), it will probably be low-end SR, LED backlight, maybe a hard drive/RAM bump. But I wouldn't hold out on a dedicated graphics card any time soon.

The X3100 which is slated to replace the GMA950 in the current MacBooks is only about 3 times faster. It does, however, have hardware T&L so it will be compatible with more games. Those crunchgear rumors were well squished here on MR. Can't really go thinner than 1" due to hard disk.

hopefully no new macbooks will come out soon as I just got one 3 months ago and want to have the greatest for a little while longer
