Why no-one told me this before!

Just noticed now how fast the 6+ was charging when in the iMac so did some Googling about it and yes, it turns out the newer Macs will charge your phone faster.

You guys blow, you're supposed to keep me up to date on this shizzle :cool:

I am getting this, isn't this the same "5A" as a wall charger?

Ah shame, your mac must have the slightly older USB type. It needs to say 1600 instead of 500 under Extra Operating Current :( My mac is a late 2012 model..

I see, I will try it out on my iMac that I picked up in January. The Macbook Air I tried it on is from Jan 2012 so it's probably a mid-2011 machine as my company stocks these.
