New Mail is invisible

On a MacBook running 10.5.2 any new email received today is invisble in Mail. I have an email from last at 10:28 pm which I can read. That was the last one from yesterday. My first email was received at 15 minutes after midnight. I can not see the contents of that email nor any other emails from today. Funky, eh?
Any suggestions on how I can read email received today would be appreciated.

I had this problem a few days ago, I either closed down mail and reopened it or did a system restart, can't remember but I was able to once again read mail, hope this helps.
