New maps in Photo app-Places?

The maps currently available in the Photos app, are they replaced by new Apple maps in IOS 6? Just wondering.

I'd imagine so. Find my friends / iPhone have got the new maps in iOS 6. Also any 3rd party app that uses google maps will have it replaced by Apple maps so I believe.

Yes, Places in the Photos app is using Apple's new Maps.

Seems to be system wide, got a few apps that uses maps and unless the app uses its own map the new maps show up
