New MB Beachballing

Just turned it on and am setting it up. It's been on the "Setting Up Your Mac" page about 15 -20 min with the spinning beachball.

Is this a concern or normal. I'm at a diner near the store , I'd rather not drive home, just to come back later today.

Brought it back after 30 min of beach balling. The new MB whizzed thru the same screen in about 15 seconds.
