So, I migrated from my MBA M2 to the new 15" MBA M4 and everything works fine, except I noticed I was not receiving texts to the MBA, nor could I send texts from it. I looked at the phone and MBA settings and see that they are not paired via bluetooth, not is one visible to the other. Bluetooth is turned on for both and I have tried turning BT off and then back on both but no joy. What's going on? I have never before had the slightest BT issue since I have been using iPhones and MBAs.

I'll try restarting both devices and see if that helps.

Restarts didn't help. I mispoke earlier... In BT settings, the iPhone lists "Macbook Air" under other devices but when I click on it to pair it says "MacBook Air not supported". The MBA BT is working, as I have paired my Sony headphones and it is seeing neighbor's TVs and such. But it doesn't see my iPhone 16??

Are you signed in with your Apple account on both the MBA and iPhone Messages app? Have you enabled iCloud messages in System Settings?

iCloud is where the connection is made and not bluetooth. First place I would check in your situation is on your phone: Settings-Apps->Messages->Text Message Forwarding and make sure your new Mac is selected in the list.

That was it. Enabled in iCloud on the MBA and now working fine. I don't recall having to do this setting manually when I got my MBA M2 a couple years ago. But maybe I did and forgot??
