I plan on buying a new laptop by the new year and I'm debating between a 2.0/2.4 GHz Macbook or a 1.6 GHz Macbook Air. I would only use this for note taking and for working in Logic Studio on occasion.
I understand the RAM and the processor in the Air will not match up to the book but as far as portability it is amazing. Furthermore, the air fully meets the minimum requirements for logic studio.. At home I have an 8 core Pro so I am not in need of any type of high powered mobility.
I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have experience running intensive software on an Air? Also, with snow leopard and OpenCL, Apple is promising the ability to drop processor load onto the GPU.. Does anyone have insight as to how well a technology like this could possibly work.. what aspects it would enhance and to what extent?
Thanks!
